MOVE ME #2
creative workshop sessions
MOVE ME #2 happened on Sunday 12th November 2023 2.30pm – 6.00pm at Schumacher College, Dartington, Totnes, Devon
This session was hosted and co-created with Cosima Von Seefried and Jonathan Chadwick
The participants were all attendees at Schumacher.
Here is some of the feedback we received:
“The facilitators created such a safe and special container for all of the attendants to reconnect with our hearts and feel the impact of that in a room. The idea they explore of “rehearsal for life” is so powerful and definitely awakened dormant aspects of my creative life which began to sprout up like tendrils. So grateful for the workshop’s sense of awakening that has stayed with me—from mindfulness movements like the rice paper walking to frozen statues—I see and move differently in the world with others”.
“Move me” Session – On a Sunday afternoon, we moved our bodies through a range of creative, theatrical, somatic and playful, movement exercises. I felt immediately comfortable and a true sense of safety was created: a great container for self expression. We practiced movement from the inside out, guided by our internal instincts, and then the session progressively became about co-creation and expanding into movement in relation with the group. I was able to physically create a representation of my inner world, collaborating with others, process feeling and reimagine the shapes of my inner world with others. It moved any stagnation and encouraged me to expand areas of tension or blockages, in mind and body. Learning about the health of theatre recently, I have felt passionate about theatre techniques to bring people together in creative, improvisational ways. I look forward to seeing how project evolves for its next chapter!”
“Participating as a couple in MOVE ME was interesting because we explored relating to various kinds of people in the room and give space to see each other in a unusual, enriching way; exploring territory beyond the ordinary day-to-day togetherness. We each experienced our own process throughout the session and instead of wanting to interfere, which can sometimes happen in a relationship, we respected the independence but also interdependence with a fresh nuance and softness.”
